The EQCO875SC single coax transceiver is designed to simultaneously transmit and receive signals on a single 75? coax cable up to 1.25 Gbps in both directions. Power can be delivered over the same coax with a current up to 900mA. Compatible with LVDS, CML and other NRZ differential signaling methods.

A major application for this chip is in IP-camera networks whereby lengths of already routed legacy coaxial cables can be reused. EqcoLogic has an evaluation kit available, that includes PoE ( RG-6 up to 180m ), that goes over into power over the coax cable for powering the camera:

  • Full-duplex bidirectional communication over a single coax supporting: Fast- and Gigabit Ethernet, LVDS, IEEE1394b ( S800 and lower data rates ) and MOST ( automotive )
  • Cable extension due to internal equalization e.g.:
    • IEEE1394/S800 at 1Gbps, 80m over RG6 coax
    • Fast Ethernet at 125 Mbps, 180m over RG6 coax
    • Gigabit Ethernet at 1.25 Gbps, 50m over RG6 coax
